Pros: it does exactly what it is suppose to do and comes well packaged and the delivery time was fair( i live in the uk and i had no problems with the customs for all the ones i bought) worked out of the box,
Cons: battery life isnt the best and some of the ones i bought werent working after the 1st change in the car th red light was showing even when it was off or on. the ariel look cheapand are loose..............................................................................................................................
Other Thoughts: a great device at a fair price could have been better i think.............................................................................................................................
Bottomline: i love this item and its fairly small
Pros: Amazing fun, best 20 odd pounds ive spent in years. Easy to use and very effective, use mine on the train to and from work so i no longer have to sit and listen to how many stocks and shares rupert sold yesterday. Just charge for about 4 hrs and off you go.
Cons: None so far, every time i have used it, its worked
Other Thoughts: If you are in the UK please note it comes with a US plug so you will need a US to UK adaptor or you could just charge via the car.
Bottomline: If like me you are fed up with the sound of someone shouting down their mobile phone with a complete disregard for anyone else then get one and practice your right to travel in peace
Pros: It's light. It's built solid. It's small. Operation is easy, just one button on/off. Car charger is nice accessory.
Cons: Works up to 6 feet MAX. The description says 2-40feet? I walked with my cellphone to the jammer to see about the distance it would work. At 6 feet, I started losing bars. And closer I lost all bars. But it doesn't work all the time. Another time I walked up to the jammer and still had 2 full bars on my cellphone. Both were right next to each other.
Other Thoughts:
Bottomline: Not worth the price.
Pros: Shipping was done quite nicely, plain packaging and description. Arrived in nice shape; only 2 weeks to USA as expected.Pretty simple concept; VCO's driven by a dual 555 timer to generate a ramp to sweep the output. I was able to shift the output frequencies around in the bands to "tune" it, so results will vary. I imagine that this would work better in a more rural area as the distance between sites will reduce the RSS of the receiver. (This unit works by simply overloading the front end of the receiver.) I liked the case, and the parts were all pretty clearly labeled. Nothing was demarked, so getting datasheets to make up a service manual was simple.Should be easy to make work better with a little time and a couple of
Cons: Low output power. There are a couple of Tee pads on the outputs of the VCO's that can be removed, but 2 of the 3 sources were already at their maximum output level on the unit I received. May not be a good idea if the antennas are poorly matched, don't have a network analyzer to check. (They probably are not based on their design.) I did damage the unit during my poking around at it, when I opened the housing and slid the board out (it was tight, but I used a small piece of steel as a push rod on the the SMA connectors and a little force) because I was unable to remove one screw on the and caught the power supply inductor on the hanging bottom cover. Easy replacement from digikey stock, my fault on the Eye Dee Ten Tee error. Others have mentioned the pushbutton, but not really that big of a deal - I think the designer had the idea that a large, easy to find in the pocket button would make it more effective. Seemed like an acceptable trade-off to me, but it did feel kind of cheap.
Other Thoughts: Can anyone say Minicircuits amplifiers? How about a little antenna gain? Could be worth a shot, have not tried it yet. Was worth the money just for the interest of seeing what is being sold.
Bottomline: Worth the money as a starting point, but will take a couple of tweeks to make it work the way I want it to. Still, value is there. Worth it if you know how to fix it or just want to claim you own such a device. Interesting conversation starter.
